best chinese restaurant

This is the only chinese retaurant in the area that doesn't turn my stomach as soon as I walk in. The decor isn't the typical tacky out of the box chinese red latern fair. they have a fish tank as many others do, except it is clean ! The menu is also not stereotypical. Many interesting menu itums and all done well. The jasmine tea you get with your meal is also excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who are tired of the twice cooked pork peices and wontons of most chinese places.

Staff not as friendly as you would like-but owner is awesome treats customers like family. We got to know him as we talked at the counter and actually love to go get take out. Unfriendly staff the only downer---
Golden 'Hair Sticks'

I visited Golden 'Hair Sticks', as my family calls, it six months ago, and during our visit, we were welcomed warmly, served promptly and then served HAIR in our food! In the breaded chicken and shrimp there were very long black hairs! We were horrified. We asked the waitress to take it back to the kitchen and the manager came out yelling we put it there. All of my family members are BLOND not EBONY in hair color. That and it just wasn't laying on top of the food, it was in knotted into the breading so when you picked up the hair the whole hunk of chicken and shrimp came with it! The lady who was the manager said, after much arguing, she would bring us another dish, free, to replace the one we were served and low and behold the next dish had THE SAME PIECE of chicken with the hair and all on it! They had put the breaded chicken from the old dish onto the new! We promptly left and have never gone back. The people were rude about the problem, did nothing to fix it, blamed us, and had the gall to try an reserve food with hair in it! I would not recommend this place to anyone and would recommend if you do eat their to check your food for foot long pieces on black hair!
Think twice before eating

My husband and I decided to try Golden Chopsticks last night based upon the many positive reviews listed on this website. We went in with open minds and left with aching stomachs. While the restaurant was relatively clean, it was no where near spotless as one reviewer mentioned. The wait staff was unpleasant and the food horribly disappointing. We have consumed much better egg rolls elsewhere, but I will say the Won Ton soup was good. As for the main course, my food was soaking in a salt laden sauce while my husband's dinner consisted of various unidentifiable meats. My husband and I are big eaters and quite fond of Chinese food and neither one of us finished our dinners and we declined to take the rest home with us. We honestly did not feel well after leaving the restaurant. As compared to other Chinese restaurants, the prices were competitive but I would certainly recommend going elsewhere.

A very nice atmosphere and the food is excellent quality and it is very clean inside as well. Well worth the trip!
